China piles up military supplies near Mount Kailash
India: China is accumulating a large amount of its military equipment in the Mount Kailash region. This work started in April and now it seems to be over. Satellite photos have emerged as the main source for this.
For Hindus who worship Lord Shiva, the Kailash Mansarovar area is a holy place. It is customary for a large number of devotees to visit this place every year.
India collects taxes
Until the late 1950s, India levied taxes on villages in the Mount Kailash area. However, China seized Mount Kailash, Manasarovar and eastern Ladakh during the Tibetan conflict.
It has become the norm for China to always interfere with the flow of pilgrims from India to Mount Kailash and Manasarovar.
China blocked
For pilgrims to reach Kailash, the route from Nathula and Demok to Manasarovar is quite simple.
However, this route is known to be the hardest route blocked by China and the state of Uttarakhand allows pilgrims to pass through Pithoragarh.
Anti-Nepal
It is in this context that India builds an 80-kilometre stretch of road through the Indo-China-Nepal border crossing called Liable.
With this, devotees can easily reach Kailash Mansarovar. However, Nepal has strongly opposed the road project.
It is in this context that China is currently stockpiling military equipment near Mount Kailash. According to satellite imagery, the work has been progressing gradually since last April.
Target-capable missile
According to an English website, the satellite images taken from the sky on August 16 contain this important information.
Mainly from the ground to the sky, the missiles that can hit the enemy's target can be seen from those photos.
Re-war tension
Also, radars that can be positioned in vehicles are stationed there. About 90 km from our Indian border, this equipment are stopped by China.
