In the case of the Babri Masjid demolition case, there is an expectation of what kind of verdict will come
India: The Supreme Court has asked the CBI to extend the deadline for sentencing in the Babri Masjid demolition case by one more month to September 30 this year.
On December 6, 1992, the Babri Masjid was demolished by Karsevaks in Ayodhya. In this case, BJP senior Advani, leaders, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and many others faced criminal charges.
Supreme Court request
The case is pending in the Delhi CBI Special Court. Judge Yadav, who is currently hearing the case, was due to retire on September 30 last year.
But the apex court, which wanted him to complete the trial himself, made an important request to the Uttar Pradesh state government.
Within 9 months
Due to this, Judge Yadav was asked to extend his tenure. In addition, the Supreme Court has given Kala time to complete the trial and deliver judgment within the next 9 months.
In this context, the CBI special court judge in the Supreme Court last May wrote a letter. He said the curfew caused by the Corona infection had caused a delay in the trial and therefore the trial should be extended.
The allegations were denied
The apex court agreed and said the case should be completed by August 31.
Last month, the CBI special court obtained confessions of senior BJP leaders, including Murli Manohar and Advani Joshi, via video conference. But then they all denied the charges against them.
28 years in this case
Currently, the CBI special court judge has submitted a report on the status of the case to the apex court. In addition, he put forward a request that a deadline is set for the completion of the trial.
