Veerappan friend Pilavendran dies after Mysore jail
India: After 27 years in jail, Veerappan's accomplice Bilavendran is currently dead in Mysore jail. He hails from Mattalli village near Kollegal in Karnataka.
He was arrested by the Karnataka Task Force in 1993 and has been in jail for 27 years.
Apart from him, four other Veerappan associates, Madhayan, Simon and Gnanam, who hail from Tamil Nadu, were sentenced to death and later commuted to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court.
22 people were killed
Simon has already died in 2018. Bilavendra, who was admitted to the hospital a few days ago due to ill health in Mysore jail, has died.
